I found my way into fitness for other people. I wanted to lose weight, to look a certain way to please them. It was only when I shed their expectations and approached fitness for myself, particularly for my mental health and with my friend Julia along for the fun, that I connected with it and found in it the haven I so needed. I don’t workout to fit a certain look but to feel a certain way, alight with the energy and possibility that comes with feeling your blood pumping and heart beating hard and strong. It’s electric.
